Flyers defenseman Danny Syvret has a separated left shoulder and will miss a month.

“It’s a Grade III so, it’s significant,” said general manager Paul Holmgren.

Syvret was hurt when checked into the boards by Dallas’ Steve Ott, who was called for boarding, barely a minute into the game on Tuesday.

“I thought Danny put himself in an awkward position the way he turned,” Holmgren said. “He tried to get away from Steve Ott, who is a pretty good body checker by his own right. Quite frankly, I didn’t think it was a penalty.”
