Whether or not Brien's confidence was shaken or not, hard to say. But you're talking about a cold place in Pittsburgh in January. And the ball wasn't in the middle of the field. That's usually a recipe for disaster.
Should he have missed it? Probably not. But at the same time, the Jets didn't do everything in their power to make it a chip shot.
So as "good" as the offense was playing last night you would have attempted to throw or run in the last minute?
As for Brien, the wind wasn't a factor. Cold? That doesn't matter as much. He totally hooked the last field goal attempt, a sign that shows he was afraid of not getting enough on the ball because of the prior miss.
Regardless, the game couldve went either way. Two very good teams, today it just happend to come out in Pitts favor.
