Detroit-Ottawa Proposal

I understand Ottawa fans must be tired of these proposals but what about Tomas Holmstrom to Ottawa? He would be that tough LW that will pay the price in front of the net and he really steps it up during the playoffs (51 pts in 81 games). He could really help the Ottawa powerplay as well. What would Ottawa give up for him, preferrably a young player or some type of pick? Volchenkov would be ideal although Ottawa would need a lot more to be added probably.

Or is this a situation where Detroit wouldn't get enough value back to justify trading him?

Feel free to take some more of Detroit's senior citizens if you want too. Perhaps Shannahan with some salary paid (he is also a LW with some grit remaining who will drop the gloves when his Irish is up).

Ottawa- Holmstrom
Detroit- ???
