Well, the replacement blades are because most pro and semi pro teams only use one or two holder models at all- usually the Tuuk LS2 and Custom plus. It's to simplify finding replacement steel and such. Junior A and Major Junior wouldn't have any around. A well equipped hockey shop probably would.

As for loosening up, loctite fixes that with minimal effort.
