This will be my final response. I'm not going to get caught up any more in this ridiculous argument.
May I ask how you formulate opinions? I am sorry that I do not have time to travel to the city and interview every fan from Philadelphia and the region. I lament that fact profusely. Again, I apologize that I am obviously misinformed because I haven’t had contact with six million people. And I am utterly remorseful that opinions that I have formed while having sports-related debates with folks I know from the area can’t hold true for you. How selfish of me. I am regretful that I am so ignorant of the area. Obviously Philadelphia only sends their “bad fans” up here to go to school while the rest remain instate. That is remorseful, and I apologize for it. In fact, I have held many debates with Eagle/Flyer fans where I defended their own guys (I can distinctly remember defending McNabb and Reid after you guys succumbed to another NFC foe last year and practically every Eagles fan I knew was calling for McNabb to be traded and Reid fired. I have had numerous debates about JR and Amonte). But, again, it is pathetic that I will never have the opportunity to discuss this with every Eagle/Flyer fan and, for that, I am sorry. This is what I call a bad fan. I don’t care about Santa or whatever else you want to come up. Philadelphia fans are entirely too quick to “sacrifice” their own. They expect nothing but four championships each year, and if that doesn’t occur—trade away (or fire) the team. That is what I dislike. I am sorry that I feel this way.
Now, my turn. What, may I ask, do you think of Bush? Or Kerry? Or Clinton? Or McCain? I will say right now—and I will be 100%, unequivocally correct based on your logic—that you are incorrect in your opinions because you haven’t talked with everyone who holds a counter opinion. You see where I am going here?
Say what you will, but don’t attack someone’s own opinions based upon a logical thought process. As I have mentioned, I look forward to good debate with some fans from Philadelphia, but as of right now my opinion is how it stands until further corrected. You are not doing much to change that by insinuating that I, or all of us undergoing college education, are constantly drinking and are never sober enough to have a conversation. That is ignorance and a stupid comment to make. Plainly.
Oh, and my initial post was not arrogant although you may feel differently. I gave my statement of the facts, and I gave reasons for them as well. I honestly can not see how the Eagles can beat NE. Now, if I were to come out and say: “I would take Ted Johnson everyday and twice on Sunday over Trotter because he sucks,” that, Pelts, would be arrogance.
Loyalty and arrogance are two distinctly different topics although you may view them as the same. If you feel like having a debate on said topic, PM me and I am certain we can come to an understanding.
However, I will thank you for standing up and sounding off. At least you are willing to challenge my opinions, and I admire that. But don’t go calling them wrong because, honestly, I have nothing to confirm your worldly observations.
Ultimately, pelts, I am fatigued from trying to argue why my opinions are the way they are. They are opinions. Again: opinions. I am ready to change them, but this conversation is vaguely similar to many I have had with numerous Philadelphia fans in which one side seems unwilling to accept/understand/live with.
We’re done here.
