I think one of Hamrlik or Spacek is going to get traded. It sucks because Hammer has been great for us, but his 5.5M cap hit is really messing things up for us right now. Not as much as Gomez's, but we all know he's not going anywhere.
Spacek only makes 3.5M, it would be a significant increase in cap space but I get the feeling it's Hammer that's going to leave, if only because Spacek was signed last year.
If we're able to dump Hammer without picking up too much salary, it's gonna allow us to re-sign Pleks and that bottom-6 center. I wouldn't mind Moore coming back if he doesn't ask for crazy money like last year, he can win faceoffs and chip in the odd point here and there. I'd sign him for 1-1.5M but we might be forced to downgrade if we can't clear enough cap space.
Anyway, I can't wait to see how Gauthier handles the situation.
