Got a question for you kind fitness junkies. Probably a stupid question with an obvious answer, but I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to fitness stuff so I might as well ask.

Can being underweight or severely underweight (depending on your definition of it) severely limit your arm strength or just strength in general? I'm about fourty pounds underweight. 6' 4" and 162 (and that's after gaining about 18 pounds) and I can't even bench 90 or 80 pounds.

Just wondering whether it's a case of me not having enough muscle or me being severely underweight. I've been trying to gain weight for a long time now, but I've hit a wall at around 162 for a couple months now.
