Hence, Lukas Krajicek will remain in the lineup.

“It’s important to get Ryan [Parent] back in there and get him back into shape,” Laviolette said. “I thought he’s gotten better every game.”

Even though Ville Leino played well substituting for Darroll Powe (bruised foot) the past two games, Powe was also cleared to play and went back into the lineup against the Maple Leafs.

The reason? Laviolette expects some rough play from the Maple Leafs, and he wants more vim ‘n vigor on the ice.

Leino had played on Jeff Carter’s line with Danny Briere during Friday’s 3-2 overtime loss in Buffalo and generated scoring chances.

“It was important to have a lineup that has enough sand paper in there tonight,” Laviolette explained. “Ville did a good job, jumping up on the second line with Carter and Briere. It was good.

“It’s going to be a competitive game, a lot of one-on-one battles for the puck. Physical, hard-hitting. I want to make sure we’re ready to play [that kind of ] game.”
