I wouldn't rip replacement players...

for playing in the NHL, personally. I'm also not going to take time out of my day to spend $40 on a ticket and $6 on a beer to watch them. Unfortunately we've seen what quality hockey looks like. When you get a hodgepodge of washed-up and underskilled players, ones that cannot make it in today's NHL, ones who haven't played together, the product would make us wish we were watching last season's Rangers as that would be a treat.

PLD...I do agree that the 24% in and of itself doesn't fix anything. But, I think it is some sort of wiping the slate clean and starting from where they were several years ago. While the 24% is actually a very large concession (a guy like Holik would give up more than $4.5 million in two seasons - that's real money, money that he will never see) and it's meant to be taken in the context of other things that are being offered to help curb spending (but not absolutely limit spending).
