To answer the original question... I always have a supply of Clif Bars and Sun-Rype Fruitsource bars in my truck. If I have an empty stomach, then 30 minutes before a game I'll have one Clif Bar or two Fruitsource bars.

I feel nauseous if I exert myself for a long period of time on an empty stomach (though not as bad as beer + exertion makes me feel). These bars are convenient and have a bit of fiber, so they usually last me a game.
