I dug out my CCM Supra hockey pants and went with my regular hockey socks for a couple of sessions recently after being used to roller hockey pants which have venting on the back and mesh down the back of the legs.

You are correct, I had forgotten how hot regular socks get. I'll be wearing my roller hockey pants tomorrow when I play again.
