I think this is where we're talking past each other, Fletch. Frankly I have no idea HOW Bettman is saying this works. How I'm saying it works is how it achieves more competitive balance. Clearly that has nothing to do with a partnership with the players and who's making what. My only concern in this thread has been with how Edmonton can build and keep a team which has a chance to be consistently equal to those in Philadelphia, New York, and Detroit. (i.e. Those who can afford to pay a player like John LeClair $9M per year.)
