I am not sure that Pitkanen would have ever got it here. He is very fragile mentally, and I am not sure he could play in a pressure packed envirement every night. When things started going south for him he started to get booed and it affected his play.
Now Coburn could very well be headed down that very same road. We all know and can agree upon the skillset of both players. But the problem seems to be above his shoulders. His confidence. His hockey IQ. his decision making at critical times.
I am on the fence with Coburn. I see a big kid, who is a excellent skater and when he puts his mind to it can be very good physically. But here in lies the problem. He has forgotten that part of his game that made him so effective and so highly thought of 2 years ago. Many think it was that puck to the face he took in the 08 ECF. Who knows. If the price is right have no problem keeping him. Something in the 1.75 million dollar range.
