Now, Ottawa has already been through some youngsters and I think they've "cut the fat out" pretty well so far. We tried them out and traded them away. They still have a very skilled and very young team, only the pieces seem to be getting much better.
Yes, that is with any young team but how many teams win a stanley cup with a 22 year old #1 center? Ottawa needs to add something to the top 6 to either the LW side or the #2 C spot to really get serious about the cup. It is possible to win a cup with such a young center BUT than Ottawa would also need much better goaltending, which they do not have right now. Ottawa is very close to becoming a legit surefire winner BUT it seems like they aren't willing to make a sacrafice for the final piece to put the puzzle together for right now.
