I was lukewarm on Bettman as well. I saw both press conferences, but was so pissed...I couldn't stand either one of them. But when I listened to radio interviews afterward....Goodenow on Fan590 in Toronto and Bettman on WFan in New York.....Bettman seemed much more genuine, forthcoming, and engaging, whereas a Goodenow seemed evasive, rhetorical, and political in his answers to questions.
It just seemed Bettman felt he had the confident backing of the owners behind him, whereas Goodenow almost was hesitant to say anything of substance as he may feel the discordance in the ranks.

Below is the Bettman interview which was worth the time to listen. Pierre McGuire, Bill Clements were good as well. Michael Peca's interview was telling....the players are in disaray....he had difficulty answering a number of legit questions like...what kinda deal do you expect next year, etc.
