They did...and his response, as found at (an Inquirer article, to be specific):

A downcast Snider was asked if yesterday's developments might be enough to make him want to get out of the business.

"Right now I don't want to answer that question," he said.

Then Snider answered the question.

"But obviously, I don't want to get out of hockey," he said.
It absolutely sucks that it came to this. I want Goodenow and Bettman both strung up for their absolute failure to get this done. And here's hoping it doesn't completely kill the NHL in the U.S. How do these people not realize the position the league is in? It's a DISTANT 4th here. It has a joke of a TV deal. And still, the owners are too busy wanting to break the union and the union leadership is too busy trying to hold onto the gravy train from the last 10 years or so, which is ridiculous.

And props to Esche for being a voice of reason, and props to Clarke and Snider as well. This actually makes me feel better, to know that the team I follow is one of the teams that has an owner that cares, and a GM who is as passionate about the game as the fans are.
