Putting aside the defense for a minute (and Redden's contract), I would think that our #1 issue is clear: we lack a #1 center who can maximize Gaborik's talent. Yes, Gaborik can certainly create on his own, but would certainly be more of a threat if had a playmaking/distributor type center who can compliment him.
i couldn't disagree more

our #1 problem is not getting Gaborik to score more, its getting more people to score

our biggest problem is, without a doubt, secondary scoring

unfortunatley i don't see many options to improve that this offseason, outside of kolvochuk

therefore, i think we should address the 2nd biggest problem, defense
