I think his offense didn't develop like they had hoped and they never bothered signing him. If I recall correctly, he was actually raised to be a figure skater and then converted to hockey as a kid. Like others said, he's supposed to be pretty fast but probably doesn't have the hands to match (at least at the NHL level).

Czarnik and Wudrick could both use a year or two in the AHL. Guys like Laine could at least get a look to see if they could fill in a 12th/13th/14th forward role next season.
