How about Brisbois and Perrault for Lapointe.

Perrault is a small center who with the right wingers will rack up between 40-60 points. In Montreal he is another in a long line of small centers so is expendable. Boston don't have that problem with Thornton as their No. 1 but need a playmaker for the second line. Also with Girard out and Berard not signed the B's have a major problem on defence. Brisbois would be good for the powerplay and if you use him as a No. 4-6 defender he doesn't hurt you.

The Canadiens need size and toughness which Lapointe brings to the table. I believe Perrault is only signed through this year so the salary consideration is a wash.
