I think this is almost the most likely. I think we should re-sign Grebs, possibly Bouillon, and let Hammer walk.
I do not think Poile traded for Grebs to just use him as a rental. I think he traded for him with the intent on re-signing him, hence him only being RFA.
The only thing that bothers me about this plan, is I'm not so sure there is enough room on this team for both Grebs and Franson. Both PP specialists who are iffy in their own zone. But at this point in time, Grebs is much more valuable to us right now than Franson. Maybe Franson could be trade-bait? He is also unsigned as well...
