As an Oiler fan living in vancouver, Cloutier is being very underrated in this thread. The canucks defense is rather high profile, but they tend to have A LOT of breakdowns, and cloutier does a remarkable job of winning games for them. The only knock that I can see is that his knees are about as wonky as the nhlpa.
Auld could potentially be the backup that the canucks need in order to give cloutier some rest, in the games ive seen of him with the moose his positioning has been spectacular and he seems to have taken a step forward. Perhaps by the time hockey starts they won't even need to trade for a backup, which would be my guess what happens.
