Not as though many people thought that it was a remote possibility, but it appears that Rio Rancho will not be reactivating their dormant franchise at least at the Santa Ana Arena as an NAHL franchise is being brought in as the anchor tenant for next year.

I remember reading an article earlier this year in which the arena management of the newly renamed 1st Bank Center were talking about how they wanted the Central Hockey League back in Broomfield to fill up dates and create revenue for the often empty arena that has hosted the Ultimate Fighting Championships twice in two years. Do they have an AFL2 team to augment the arena? Anyone know what's going on there?

Lastly, when reflecting on Amarillo and past Central Hockey League markets going the NAHL route, I had almost completely forgotten that Topeka had a "one and done" experience in the Central Hockey League not too long ago. The Tarantulas. Did they play out of the current Scarecrows' rink? That might be one jersey harder to find than the San Francisco Spiders.
