Yes that is simple logic. However to take a less simple view, first let me start with an example. Say a team really needed a D - they might trade the best player in the deal to get that D, especially if the best player in the deal played a position the team was already well stocked in (goaltender, center etc.). In this case the proposal involves a position that the Sens are over-stocked in, center, for a key role player. So just because player 1 > player 2, doesn't mean that a team will not trade for player 2, for if player 2 fills the team's needs better than player 1, he is worth more to that team. Such is how teams can make win-win trades.

On the deal itself it involves players, Neil and Big Georges, that both teams are happy with. I don't see either team being motivated to make a deal.

Btw can Big Georges play LW?
