very true. I separated my shoulder in the first quarter during a football game in my throwing arm when I was a quarterback in High School. I played till almost the end of the game when the game was out of reach and finally told my coaches why I couldn't really throw well at all. I had a 2nd degree separation.

It hurt like hell, but only when I lifted my arm up to a certain point, or in a certain direction. Otherwise it was just a dull pain that I could live with and didn't affect me much.
