The implication is that the East is weak and a single player can win a series here. The only thing the Rangers will take away from this is that they were a single point away from earning post season cash. They will adjust the roster to get that extra point, and then the cash. Redden will only be waived if his salary is the only thing preventing us from making the playoffs. They'll add forward depth and hope the young D grows and plays better.
