Depending n stick blade types I switch up where the puck stars on my blade. But, yes, saucer passes start close to the heel and leave the open blade closer to the middle of the stick towards the toe.

I tried this and couldn't figure out what you meant here. You do this while snapping the puck? Do you have any examples?
