^I can't find the article, but I distinctly remember reading that someone from the Canuck brass stated they were so high on Rodin, they were contemplating using their 1st on him for fear he wouldn't be there at their second round pick. But when Schroeder fell to them, they couldn't pass up the opportunity so they picked Schroeder and crossed their fingers that Rodin would be there by the time their second pick came around.
