Malone on the other hand seems like a perfect fit. The Habs have a surplus of goaltending, which is Tampa's #1 concern. Maybe the Habs could try and pry Paul Ranger away too.
Plus think about it, Malone is American, he played for the Omaha Lancers (same team as Leblanc and Kristo), and he played for St. Cloud State in the NCAA (they basically wear Habs jerseys). Also, Malone's contract comes off the books the same summer as Gomez, Gionta and Cammalleri. It just makes too much sense!
Good analysis.....and I agree that a Horton trade much hard to figure out...not impossible but certainly for more complex....
I tend to favor Malone myself....so I agree with you....
