I think, with a little jigging, that the Sens can keep a core of Spezza, Hossa, Havlat, Redden and Chara together for 5 to 10 years.

That is if they don't get a better deal somewhere else. If they drop the UFA age to 28, I highly doubt that the core will stay together.

The Senators are stacked on the first 2 lines and top 3 D men. After that they get very average. And in a 40 million or so salary cap, you can only have so many 3-4 million type players so top heavy teams are NOT the way to go under a hard cap
