A few people thought it was a very poor idea - I'm just curious if Luongo's decline over the last year and a half has changed people's minds. I'm just glad the Canucks decided to go in a different direction, even though they missed out on the guy that's thought to be at the top of the foodchain in terms of goaltending coaches. Better late than never.
Allaire was a consultant with the Leafs this past year, not a goaltending coach. Corey Hirsch was their full time goalie coach last season.
He also wasn't let go by Anaheim, his contract expired and he turned down an offer from the Ducks to sign with the Leafs instead so he could be closer to home.
