I like the move. Luongo is a great goaltender, but he does tend to let that ego get the best of him sometimes. A full time goalie coach ought to keep him grounded and focused on the fundamentals of his game. If Lu has an off game, Melanson will be able to break it down for him and get Lu to make the adjustments. I never liked the part time goalie coach idea, and maybe Lu needs someone that isn't just going to be his friend or someone he happens to be comfortable with. He's getting paid big bucks, so he had better just suck it up and take that constructive criticism like a pro.
