Never played hockey before? The morning after my first time I was unbelievably sore. My back, feet, and core were on fire. If you've never played hockey before, you've never used those muscles in the way that you did, so of course you're going to be sore. After a couple of weeks, those muscles will get stronger and you wont be so sore the day after.

Pulling sick dekes and nasty toe drags might be "sexy", but skating is the single most important attribute in hockey. Just keep skating. Watch how the best players skate, and try to mimic their form.
