I play ball and roller hockey weekly and this is the way to go. I had to go this route out of necessity because I play on an outdoor rink. But the ABS blade is great for ball hockey since it's heavier, gives you a nicer feel than when I tried using a composite OPS.
If you do go with a wood blade, try the Reebok 2k. It's not the lightest stick, but it's very durable.
