Yeah, if I want stay up another 4 hours to properly digest it. Maybe I'm out in left field here, but I'd venture to say that none of us are following the same schedule pros follow where we don't eat anything big after about noon-2 pm, play a balls out game from 7pm till about 10 and have the time to eat something large after a game and stay up and digest it, and then need to be ready to go for practice in the morning the next day. I've never had a problem eating/drinking anything after a hockey game that I would eat after any other cardio work out.

Of course, everyone's entitled to their opinion, like Cowbell said, we're not doctors. Do what works for you.
