you guys are crazy to want an unproven rookie who has not played a meaningfull game on a north american sized rink vs the best hockey players in the world to back up rinne. what if something happens to rinne? We are screwed, esp if it is a month long injury that insurance wouldn't pick up. then you have two rookies manning the pipes. A good veteran backup is the way to go here. and cheap is 1.5. that is a good sound fair prive for a former (i think) vezina winner who isn't an absolute dog in net. He played with no defence in front of him last year and I thought put up reasonable numbers, including a winning streak of 17-18 games last year. If anything, he may push pekka, whereas a rookie could make pekka too comfortable.
