Great news. I think he is deserving, although Vanek is probably a far better NHL prospect. But I think because Bourque led his own team in scoring by a large margin, whereas Bochenski got his points playing with Spezza, and Vanek was 3rd on his team in points, that Bourque is very deserving of this recognition.

The award though, doesn't guarantee a stellar NHL career, as I noticed there aren't alot of recipients that have gone onto even a marginally notable career. Arnason was a past recipient, and he is doing fine, but for the most part there have been only a few stars who won the award. I hope Bourque is one of the exceptions.
