Block Shots, Hits, Giveaways, Takeaways - these "realtime" stats are borderline judgement calls, in fact almost all of the stats taken are judgement calls to a certain degree. The Rangers statistician crew is really on top of things compared to most of the statisticians around the league. Thats why Cally is always among the league leaders in hits. The NHL has to do a better job of keeping these types of stats IMO, and they need to have all of the statisticians on the same page - or make sure each organization has the resources to do so.

Perfect example - the Rangers were credited for 2,330 hits last season good for 2nd in the NHL. We all know the Rangers aren't an overly physical team. The statistician just marked a hit for every check he saw. Buffalo had close to 1,000 less hits than the Rangers at 30th in the league. Thats just flat out incorrect.
The Rangers' RTSS guys are notoriously biased. Alan Ryder at hockeyanalytics.com has specifically singled out the MSG stats crew for biased reporting.
