Fine. But you know it's at best loose speculation, if not a guess. So saying he
would have been picked higher if the draft was shorter sounds a bit silly. "Maybe he would have been picked higher" is at least plausible.
Although I don't hear GM's saying "we wanted to take Mr. XXXX ahead of Mr. YYYY, but since the draft wasn't one round longer we took our Mr. YYYY instead, since he's more developed. (I'll watch for it though and see if I ever hear it.)
