Just have fun. On D, just cover the point, keep the puck in the attacking zone and try not to let anyone get behind ya. Make sure you know what offsides is! Some roller hockey players aren't used to that. Don't pick your feet up too high and try to make your stride is more of a gliding motion. Try to avoid the 8 most common beginner mistakes. I come from roller as well, just got into ice not long ago--it's a blast.
