My notes for today!

Fowler is a better puck mover than anyone of our defenseman. Yes, better then Lubo. His calmness with the puck and ability to skate away from trouble is amazing for an 18 year old. No question in my mind he will be a top pairing Dman in this league for a long long time.

Sutton was very impressive today. Moves very well for a monster, has good control with the puck and is also very cool under pressure. He seemed to really enjoy being paired with Fowler and I could definitely see that as our 2nd pair as soon as this season if all goes well for Fowler.

Veilleux was flying around the ice with reckless abandon. In one shift he took two runs at defensmen and left his feet on one of them. At the end of the shift Brookbank cross checked him in the back to send a message. They jawed at each other for a bit then skated away. Not sure if he is always that feisty but he was definitely not there to make friends on his first day.

Getz/Perry/Selanne/Ryan all looked like themselves.

Beleskey has one of the hardest wrist shots I've ever seen. If he played a season with a playmaker like Getz or even Koivu he could def be a 30 goal scorer.

Koivu was FLYING today. IMO the best forward on the ice from start to finish.

Mara looked pretty solid

Sbisa was very physical and was always in the right position. I see some solid years from him but i don't think he will ever be a Power play Defensman.

Holland had some nice moves but is not close to NHL caliber yet, same for Palmeiri.

Etem has some speed but one of the worst skating strides I've ever seen at this level. At times it looks like he is going to fall face first. Also, half the time he stopped his skates would studder like he was still learning his edges. I'm really curious what the Ducks plan on doing with his stride. IMO he has a lot of work to do.

Funniest part of the practice was when during a routine transition drill Carlyle kept giving instructions right as Bobby Ryan was about to start it. After 3 false starts Bobby looked over to Sexton shook his head and said "F@$#".
