Liked all of your breakdowns HBNYC, but what offensive potential did Gilroy actually show last year aside from pre-season?

The guy has NO shot. When he would try and get pucks to the net, his wristers were so weak they were being caught like passes by the defense.

IMO his hands are his biggest attribute, but that's because he was a forward. They also don't serve him well unless he's around the net, which he wasn't AT ALL last year, and if he was, he would've been knocked over in a heartbeat.

His mobility is irrelevant, because he can't play defense at this level, and this "offensive potential" that people refer to is virtually non-existant.

It was good to take a shot on the kid, but let's put him in Hartford where he should've been last year.

Between McD, Valentenko, Semenov I think we have 3 guys who are MUCH more suited for the bottom pair than Gilroy could ever hope to be.

I've been saying it since the middle of last season; if Gilroy is on this team this year, we're in big trouble.

DISCLAIMER: This is entirely based on watching him ALL of last year.

Obviously we haven't seen the changes he's made this year.

Judging by the early tweets from scrimmages, I'm thinking not much has changed.
