Honestly, (and this isn't a knock on him) if Desharnais wnats to make the team, he has to do one thing in particular really well: Forecheck. So far i haven't really seen much of that from him--other great things, like good vision, passing, etc.,--but not much forechecking. If he doesn't put pressure on the opposing teams defences, he's kind of useless on one of the bottom two lines. I'm actually surprised that Palushaj was sent down first for that reason. Palushaj seemed way more intent on getting in on the d-men quickly and working hard in the corner for the puck. When you do that for a full game, you can be successful on any line. To me, Desharnais can only play on a scoring line, and there just isn't any room for him right now.
