Stickhandling in the living room

Hey guys, I was hoping for some tips about what kind of practice I can do at home. I'm kind of a beginner.

I heard about the Black Ice stuff or whatever, and I also heard that there are alternatives. Can you talk a little about what kinds you've used, how cheap it is, how good/authentic it is, etc? And how big of a sheet/space do I need to get some decent practice in?

Secondly, suggestions for some kind of drills would be good. I have a decent feel for the puck but I'd just like to get a lot more comfortable with it, to the point where I can control it without watching it and keep my upper body movement independent from my skating. I suppose what I can do in my living room is pretty limited, but I'm sure it will be a little useful at least.
