I'm sure those skill pads from HockeyShot are very nice, but a cheaper alternative would be 'Thrifty White Board' from Lowe's or Home Depot. $12 for a 4' x 8' board, and you can have it cut to smaller sizes if need be. It's pretty slick as-is and the regular 6oz pucks slide fine, but spray some silicone lube on it and it's slick as ice, though that may not be the best idea to get the spray all over your living room floor. Would certainly work if you had a yard or driveway to lay it down on.
