BISONS LOSE ON LATE FLURRY

MANITOBA BISONS 4
ST. CLOUD STATE HUSKIES 7

|> [WCHA SUMMARY] ~ [SCSU STORY] ~ [SCSU LIVESTATS]

I was listening to the St. Cloud radio broadcast. It seemed to be a fast=paced game. It also seemed that the Bison goaltending was less than stellar. Starter Steve Christie had the night off so Jessie Deckert and Joe Caligiuri split the game. Deckert allowed 3 goals on 16 shots whilst Caligiuri allowed 4 goals on 11 shots. The Bisons outshot yet-another-team-named-Huskies by 34-27.

In another line-up note, the Bisons appear to have an injury bug. Defenceman Patrick Flynn had to play on the wing. Also scratched were forwards Kyle Howarth, Joey Moggach, and Wes Pawluk, defenceman Brandon Lockerby, and goaltender Steve Christie.

The Huskies built up a 3-0 lead and things looked grim. However, 2nd period goals by Blair Macaulay and Riley Dudar narrowed the gap to 3-2. It appeared that SCSU had disheartened the Bisons with a last-minute goal, but the Bisons responded with their own last minute goal, by Jared Walker, to make it a 4-3 deficit after two.

In the 3rd period, Ian Duval tied it up 5 minutes in. But that was as close as it got. SCSU scored 3 times on 7 shots in the period and claimed the win.

SASKATCHEWAN HUSKIES 1
REGINA COUGARS 2

|> [LEAGUESTAT SUMMARY] ~ [CW STORY]

As of this post, none of the sites have a game story posted. Maybe check the U of R, U of S, and CIS sites on Sunday. The game was scoreless after 2 periods, despite Sask firing 29 shots on Adam Ward. But when a game stays close, all it takes is one period. By all accounts, the 3rd was tight and the Cats beat the Dogs this time, to give everybody in Banjoland 2 points to start the season.

CALGARY DINOS 1
ALBERTA GOLDEN BEARS 4

|> [U OF A STORY]

The Evil Monkeys scored another decisive victory to sweep the Battle of Alberta. The Dinos have to be concerned about their lack of goal-scoring. They struggled in the pre-season as well. Still, lots of teams drop a pair of games in Edmontown.

LETHBRIDGE PRONGHORNS 1
COLORADO COLLEGE TIGERS 5

|> [WCHA SUMMARY] ~ [CC LIVESTATS] ~ [CC STORY]

This is the start of 3 games in 3 nights for the H0rny Ones. CC dominated the shots by 31-11.

UBC THUNDERBIRDS 1
NEBRASKA-OMAHA MAVERICKS 6

UBC is also on a 3 games in 3 nights road-trip to the NCAA. It seems Liambis and Toigo did not suit up for UBC.
