Chris Pronger will sit out the Flyers' season opener against Pittsburgh tonight, needing more time to rest the veteran's ailing knee, reports insider Tim Panaccio.

On Tuesday, head coach Peter Laviolette said it would be Pronger's decision, and no on else's, on whether he would play or sit. Pronger practiced with teammates Tuesday.

In other news, Sergei Bobrovsky will be the Flyers' starting goalie against the Penguins.
