For all the reasons we've discussed elsewhere, they will fold, but at the end of the day it comes down to a simple fact: not a single owner needs the NHL to pay his mortgage(s). Most NHLers do. This is why they've surrendered the one point which they vowed never to surrender.

For players there's one simple mantra: the spice must flow.
