The teams that met in the '88 and '91 playoffs were in actuallity made up of many of the players being suggested for the all-time teams, probably 70% I'd say at a glace. So the results from those two series are a good starting point.

I really like arrbez's Edmonton team. I'd probably keep those top three lines in tact. My fourth line would be Semenko-Marchant-Grier/Moreau. Marchant is perpetually underrated in an all-time sense. Horcoff may boast the best individual season between the two of them, but Marchant would occupy the next several places. I'll take Toddy over Horc all day.

Tough to choose who to round out the Oiler defense with. The Smith's, Gregg, Fogolin, and Niinimaa all have good cases for inclusion. If you're looking solely on how a player did during his best stretch of hockey, Eric Brewer makes a good argument as well.

...Also should mention, and it goes without saying for those who know me in these parts, that Igor Ulanov is the #1 d-man and team captain.
