Tampa Bay send Olvestad to Hamilton Bulldogs
Bulldogs receive Olvestad from Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned right-winger Jimmie Olvestad to the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs.

Olvestad, a 6' 1, 194 pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, skated in 37 games with the Lightning last season and recorded three assists and 16 penalty minutes. Olvestad also played six games with the AHL's Springfield Falcons and earned one assist, along with 13 minutes in penalties.

Olvestad was selected by Tampa Bay in the third round, 88th overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs will conclude their 2003-04 preseason schedule on Sunday, October 5th (12:30 p.m.) as they visit the St. John's Maple Leafs at Mile One Stadium in St. John's.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned right-winger Eero Somervuori to the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. Somervuori, a 24-year old native of Jarvenpaa, Finland, skated last season with the HPK Hameenlinna in Finland. The 5'9, 185 pound forward earned 45 points on 21 goals and 24 assists, along with 42 penalty minutes in 56 games played. Somervuori was originally selected in the seventh round, 170th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
