Picard has served his team nowhere so far.

While Spacek hasn't had a start we were hoping for, he remains a better d-man than Picard, with a better upside. When Spacek brings his A-game, he's a great #3 d-man. When Picard brings his A-game, he's a borderline NHLer.

Picard will never be an NHL regular, and will be sent through waivers as soon as Markov is back. If it's not the case, he'll be the 7th d-man and O'Byrne will be sent elsewhere, or through waivers.

But actually playing Picard before a d-man who proved, not only in the past, but as soon as last season in the playoffs, that he was capable of being a great #3-#4 d-man, when Picard himself hasn't been capable of finding his niche anywhere in the NHL, is either blind loving or biased logic.
